How it works
Four steps to a placed referral.
Read the full walkthrough →Submit
You raise a referral inside your organisation's workspace. Consent and decision-making authority are recorded at intake, and drafts save as you go.
Find
Rivea shows providers that currently meet the referral's approval, service, area and capacity requirements. You choose whom to contact.
Respond
Contacted providers see a limited triage view in their own workspace and respond with real availability: accept, offer a waitlist, or decline with a reason.
Place
The participant's choice is recorded. You then confirm disclosure authority and exactly what may be shared before the selected provider receives full details. Everyone else's access ends and a notification is queued.
Information shared in stages
Providers see what they need,
when they need it.
A referral is not an open file. Each contacted provider starts with a structured triage view. After selection, the coordinator separately confirms authority and the exact information approved for disclosure. That immutable record controls what the selected provider receives.
Triage
Stage 1What every contacted provider sees first
- Service needed and the purpose of the referral
- General area, without an exact address or postcode
- Age group, urgency band and delivery preference
- Support needs relevant to safe delivery
No name, no date of birth, no NDIS number, no contact details.
The gate
Participant choice recorded, then disclosure authority confirmed separately.
immutable snapshot recorded
Full
Stage 2The selected provider only
- Full name and contact details
- Date of birth and NDIS number
- Intake information and approved documents
- Coordinator contact details, exchanged both ways
Shared with one provider only after the participant's choice and a separate disclosure-authority confirmation are recorded.
Disclosure confirmation is recorded. If a referral is withdrawn, or a provider isn't selected, their access ends. Any notification is queued and its delivery status is tracked separately. How your information is handled
For support coordinators
Keep the whole referral in view.
One calm workspace for intake, eligible providers, responses and the participant-directed outcome.
Your referral workspace
Create referrals, save drafts, track responses and record placements in one place, without rebuilding the same story across email threads.
Clear provider eligibility
Each listed provider currently meets the release rules for approval, service, area and capacity. You decide whom to contact.
Only current eligible capacity
The eligible list includes only providers with available capacity confirmed within the last 14 days. Providers with stale or unconfirmed capacity are omitted rather than shown for you to assess.
Responses in one place
Accepted, waitlisted or declined, each with a reason, tracked together without separate email threads.
The loop gets closed
Record how the participant directed the choice and place the referral. Other providers' access ends, and notification delivery is tracked separately.
Nothing sensitive lands in an inbox
Email notifications say something is waiting and link to the sign-in screen. Participant information stays behind the signed-in workspace.
For providers
Receive the right referral, with the right context.
Provider workspaces require activation by a Rivea administrator. Rivea records the date of any business identity (ABN) and registration checks performed. Those dated checks describe what was checked; they are not an endorsement or guarantee of quality.
An administrator must activate your workspace. If it is activated, Rivea queues an email and tracks delivery separately.
Referrals your practice is eligible to receive
A coordinator can contact you when your approved practice has the requested service, area and current available capacity. No feeds to trawl, no bidding.
Triage first, selected-provider details later
You see structured triage information first. Full details and approved documents arrive only if you are selected and the coordinator separately confirms disclosure authority and exactly what may be shared.
Your referral workspace
One referral inbox, with self-service updates to your capacity, wait times and profile.
Honest answers are good answers
A decline with a reason, or a realistic waitlist offer, helps the participant more than silence. Rivea is built around real capacity.
Where Rivea operates
Melbourne's south-east,
done properly first.
Rivea's launch network focuses on Melbourne's south-east, for selected non-urgent allied-health services. We'd rather tell you our coverage plainly than imply a national network. Coverage grows as the provider network does.
Not for urgent or crisis needs
Rivea is for planned, non-emergency referrals. Do not use it for urgent or crisis needs; use the appropriate urgent pathway instead. If someone is at immediate risk, call 000.
Trust
Run by people you can
hold to account.
Who operates Rivea
Rivea is operated by Rivea Pty Ltd in Melbourne. A Rivea administrator reviews provider registrations before activation. Support coordinators make the referral and provider-selection decisions.
How the platform worksHow information is protected
Referral information sits behind accounts and signed-in sessions. There are no links that open participant information without signing in. Selected-provider disclosure is recorded and organisations are separated. Our Privacy Policy explains the infrastructure and processing locations we use.
Read the Privacy PolicyIf something goes wrong
Questions, corrections and complaints have a clear pathway: contact Rivea, and if you're not satisfied with the response you can take a privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
